Well Woman Visits
During a pelvic exam your pap smear is used to find any changing cells in the cervix. Pap smears help to detect cancer early. Current guidelines recommend women have a pap smear every three years beginning at age 21.
Yearly mammograms are recommended starting at age 40 and continuing every year after. Clinical breast exams (performed in our office) are recommended every three years for women in their 20s and 30s and every year for women in their 40s.
We perform clinical breast exams, mammograms, pap smears and pelvic exams as well as ultrasounds and biopsies as part of an early detection program against cancer.
The Well-Woman Exam acts as your foundation for good health. We will collect your health history, conduct a physical exam and assess for other health problems.
