Comprehensive Urologic Care for Kids
Pediatric urology deals with problems of the kidneys, bladder, ureters (urine tubes), and male/female genitalia in children. Patients are managed both medically, and surgically in the hospital.
Common pediatric urology problems treated include:
- Undescended testicles
- Blockages of the kidney or bladder
- Urinary reflux (urine going backward into the kidneys)
- Kidney stones
- Varicoceles (dilated veins in the scrotum)
- Testis and kidney tumors
- Bed wetting
- Daytime wetting
- Recurrent urinary tract infections.
Urologists also see pregnant moms with a prenatal diagnosis of hydronephrosis, and do post-natal evaluations. They also offer newborn circumcisions.
New services include evaluation and treatment of pediatric stones, and laparoscopic robotic-assisted procedures to correct kidney and bladder problems.
