Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery (CLIMB) is a support program dedicated to the emotional support of children who have a parent or grandparent or other family member with cancer. The free program offers six weekly, 90 minute group meetings for children ages 6 to 13. During the meetings discussion and arts and crafts are used to help children express their feelings. For the most recent schedule, place and time, call Barbara Bates in the Cancer Center at (509) 522-5700.
Creative Expressions helps cancer patients explore painting as a means of expressing feelings in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental setting. There is no need for prior experience and materials are provided. The emphasis is not on the end product, but on the creative process. Classes of no more than six participants meet on scheduled Wednesdays from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. For the next series of classes and place, contact facilitator Barbara Bates in the Cancer Center at (509) 522-5700.
