New Patient Information
Thank you for choosing the Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center to be your partner in cancer treatment.
On every visit, you will check in at the Cancer Center’s front reception desk for your appointment. It may be helpful to bring with you a list of questions that you may have.
For your convenience, all of your cancer-related appointments for diagnostic tests, doctor appointments, or other health professional appointments at Providence St. Mary will be coordinated for you through our scheduling coordinators. Just call the main Cancer Center number and ask for scheduling: (509) 522-5700 or (800) 452-5052.
The Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center is in the heart of Walla Walla and can be reached in 15 minutes from nearly anywhere in the city.

From Highway 12: Take the Second Avenue exit. Turn right at the baseof the ramp onto Second Avenue. Take Second until you reach Alder, then turn right. Providence St. Mary Medical Center is on Alder between 5th and 7th Avenues. The Cancer Center is attached to the hospital, andis on the corner of 7th Avenue and Willow Street.
From Highway 125: Highway 125 becomes 9th Avenue. Turn right on Alder Street. Providence St. Mary Medical Center is on Alder between 5th and 7th Avenues. The Cancer Center is attached to the hospital, and is on the corner of 7th Avenue and Willow Street.
If you are arriving by bus, there are bus stops outside both the main hospital and the clinic to make it easy for you to reach us.
Be sure to bring you of your current insurance cards with you to each visit. Before any treatment or procedure, our pre-authorization staff will contact your insurance company to make sure that they will authorize the treatment as covered under your policy. Copayments are expected at the time of your appointment.
If you are a self-pay patient (if you do not have insurance coverage and are not covered by governmental programs), you will be asked to make a down payment at the time of your appointment. If you are unable to make the down payment for financial reasons, please tell us. You may be eligible for assistance.
Insurance cards are requested at every appointment.

- Referral from your current primary care physician (if required by your insurance plan) and you are a new patient.
- Co-payment (if required by your insurance plan)
- A list of your prescriptions and any other over-the-counter medications or supplements you are taking
- X-ray (actual films or CD) and X-ray reports (i.e. MRI, PET scan, CT, bone scan, diagnostic reports)
- Pathology report and slides
- Medical records
