Cancer Care Planning
The centerpiece of Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center is our multidisciplinary approach, which brings together a team of cancer specialists to provide your care.
Interdisciplinary Team Meetings
Each week, patients starting a new or revised treatment plan has their case discussed by a team of doctors and support staff to jointly recommend appropriate care.
Our expert team of cancer specialists includes oncologists, pharmacists, oncology certified registered nurses and social workers, palliative care, therapists, survivorship registered nurses, nurse navigators, spiritual support, dietitians, research team members and others.
Our multidisciplinary clinics focus on specific cancers, such as breast, lung and prostate. These clinics bring together your doctors from primary care, surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology and pathology to discuss your cancer and establish appropriate care.
Depending on the procedures necessary, one or all providers will see you in the cancer center immediately following the clinic. At the conclusion of your visit, you’ll leave with access to navigation and an understanding of next steps in your care plan with appointments in hand.
