Therapeutic Yoga

therapeuticyogaThe Providence Tumwater Valley Physical Therapy Therapeutic Yoga Program includes an initial evaluation, treatment sessions, and a custom designed program for home injury management. Packages include one-on-one visits or group yoga classes. Your insurance company may cover the cost of treatment. A physician referral may be needed.

What is the PTVPT Therapeutic Yoga Program? 

The PTVPT Therapeutic Yoga Program is a blend of yoga with physical therapy: combining an expertise in healing from injuries with a lifelong path of wellness. You do not need to be experienced in yoga to benefit from this program. The participants are supported in the postures to allow healing to take place without exerting effort.

Michelle Walz, MPT

Michelle Walz received her master's degree in Physical Therapy from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Related Sciences in 2001 and has been practicing an an outpatient clinic since that time. Blending her formal education with yoga-centered continuing education, Michelle utilizes a holistic and comprehensive method of treating the whole body. Michelle is a certified Radiant Health Yoga teacher as well as certified in Therapeutic Yoga which includes:

  • Restorative yoga
  • Gentle yoga
  • Breath awareness
  • Guided relaxation
  • Hands on healing
