The group is affiliated with, and on the campus of, Providence St. Mary Medical Center, the largest hospital in Walla Walla.

The Occupational Health program offers services including employment physicals and screenings, regulatory exams, hearing evaluations, substance abuse testing, evaluation and treatment of injured workers, vaccinations, testing and treatment for exposure to blood-borne pathogens, respiratory and pulmonary services, and management of industrial claims.

Please call for an appointment. Bring with you to the appointment a list of medications you are taking. Please also complete and bring in with you any paperwork, if any, that the doctor may have mailed to you.

At the doctor’s office, you will complete a report about what happened and will be examined. The physician will determine whether your injury is job- related, recommend what treatment you may need, determine if you can return, when, and to what extent. Some people initially return to work doing light-duty tasks.

It is important to stay in touch with your employer, communicate with your claims manager and return all requested information. Make sure to keep your employer informed about your condition and recovery and if you are able to work. Inquire about light-duty options that may allow you to return sooner without compromising your recovery. If you cannot return to work, the workers’ compensation program may pay a portion of your previous wages. You also may qualify for retraining for a different job.

Providence St. Mary is a preferred provider for the Washington State Center for Occupational Health and Education Program and works closely with all major industrial insurance programs for Washington and Oregon employers.
