Legacy Luncheon

Finding your Ikigai

Discover our Reason for Being no Matter Your Age

Please join us at our 11th Annual Legacy Luncheon in support of the residents in need at Providence Mount St. Vincent October 3rd at the Seattle Sheraton.

11:00 a.m. - Registration begins
11:30 a.m. - Program and lunch
1:00 p.m. - Donor reception with Mr. McLain

Ik-i-gai {eek – y – guy} - Okinawan concept that roughly translates to “the reason for which you wake up in the morning.”

Water_Skier1David McLain, an award-winning National Geographic photographer will take us through a multi-media tour of stunning images and profound stories -- of amazing elders living vibrant, passionate and long lives from around the world. As witnessed while photographing the National Geographic special on The Secrets of Aging – David will illustrate how these elders embraced or experienced the Japanese concept of Ikigai to fuel their passion or “reason for being” and how that became central to their longevity, fulfillment and happiness.

Your gift not only supports our work to provide outstanding care and a loving home at The Mount, but also the fulfillment and happiness of each and every resident.

During the luncheon guests will be invited to make a donation in support of residents and programs of Providence Mount St. Vincent. Suggested minimum donation of $150. Donors who give $250 or more will be invited to a Donor Reception with Mr. McLain immediately following the luncheon and will receive an autographed photographic print and a copy of New York Times Bestseller, Blue Zones.
