Philosophy of Care

I love giving patients the right information so they can make informed decisions about their health. From my perspective, I’m giving them the best scientific evidence available and presenting different options. I believe patients should be making decisions based on that information as well as their own values.

Dr. Ban & nurse are always very good to ease my worries. His referrals are very good (excellent) this visit was to go over my visits to the referrals - he & his nurse strongly recommend an colonoscopy - I did & had [...] polyps removed thank you!!

Another physician questioned my blood pressure and requested that I meet with Dr. Ban's nurse and check accuracy of my machine with theirs. I was welcomed, and given a time range that would be convenient for both parties. Overall it was a good experience. I used MyChart to contact the office for this.

a referral was made to Providence Pulmonary Medicine in Olympia, it took them about 8 days to call me as they need my Sleep Apnea information. I called Dr. Bans office and asked them to forward the documents. two weeks later I called Olympia and [...] said she hadn't received them, so I called Dr. Ban's office again and spoke to his nurse and gave her the fax number. today, I followed up with [...] in Olympia and she looked in her pile of records and said I was on the list to call today. [...]

Provider brushes me off. Doesn't understand my health care needs and I have been told twice that his schooling didn't provide him with enough information to help me with my situation.

having long term conditions that no one is willing to take care of have been referred to another Drotor and they've referred me to the first one this includes all the Doctor I have seen at your clinics.I think your Doctor should be willing to make sure you are taken care of instead of passing you another Droctor.

I have had to call the office EVERY time my perscription for [...] refills ran out. On many of these occadions, ive had to call several times for one perscript. my husband also called on two occasions. I will be calling in again today for a refill on [...]. Dr. Ban refused to give us alergy shots, the same shot husband has received for the past two years from [...], in this facility. [...]

I set up my appointments 2-3 months in advance, and almost always have to change my appointment date due to the provider's not being available on the time the appointment was scheduled for. It is often difficult for me to change my appointment due to my busy schedule. I am very happy with Dr. Ban and usually communicate with his office by MyChart. [...]

I set this appt. up after the xray of my back by an orthopedic physician showed an object in the xray the surgeon/physician could not explain. The ortho dr. recommended I see Dr. Ban about this unidentified mass on the xray. I gave a copy to Dr. Ban one week before my appt. and no one looked at it. A wasted appt.

Dr. Ban had to be gone over Christmas Holidays & assigned 2 of his 2 practitioners to ck. on me with appointments. I was impressed with the care (I had heart fluttering & I have been diagnosed with atrial-fib).

Dr. Ban seemed as though he was somewhat 'disconnected' during my appointment. Our communication seemed difficult during this visit - almost awkward as he acted a bit preoccupied. I had to remind him numerous times to refer to my medical history & current medications list in order for our conversations to correlate. For the first time, ever, I left this appointment feeling as though I did not have a competent "family" doctor that I could visit for decades to come.

Didn't listen. [...] Did not establish or maintain eye contact. Computer got more attention than me. [...] I like front desk staff. They do more to get stuff done & communicated. I feel like I'm not important and that [...] I'm a burden to them. I should change doctors cause he is too busy to see me. Runs in and out of room.
