Philosophy of Care

I have been practicing medicine for more than 30 years, and have gained much insight and experience from my thousands of patients. I believe in educating my patients, so that they can understand their disease and participate in their care decisions with confidence.

Cancer is a journey, and I enjoy traveling through that experience with my patients, no matter what the outcome.

Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

I am very pleased with all aspects of my treatment which is why I chose to drive 2 hours away from home to be treated in this cancer care center. I also recommend this hospital to my primary care physician as a wonderful place for others to come to receive mammograms and treatments. Dr. Batson made me feel knowledgeable about my condition and future care needs. He certainly is a physician that helps me in the healing process, physically and emotionally.
