Philosophy of Care

There are many important factors that contribute to a person’s overall health, including individual life circumstances, prevention, and available evidence-based treatments. I believe in working together with patients to examine these factors and determine a path to better health. The establishment of a physician-patient relationship built on a foundation of trust, understanding, and continuity makes this possible.

Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

Provider had a busy day, but wait time was reasonable. She discussed what seemed wrong and provided several options to treat my cold/bronchitis.

She asked me not to vomit on her in my nauseated state! She was physically tentative about even touching me for heartrate, lungs, and ear checks. She never acknowledged or asked about me being a mother to young children and my breastfeeding status. She subsequently had to send her nurse in to change a prescription.

this was my first appointment with this doctor. my previous Dr at [...] left the practice. the only Dr. in the Three Providence general practice system available was this doctor. I waited two months to see her I am frustrated that it takes that long to see a doctor especially when you are already a patient in the providence system. I also like electing a doctor and not get the " only one available". Did I like her, yes. But if it was someone I was not comfortable seeing, then what?

i was looking for a doctor closer to me. i just moved to olympia and didn't want to keep driving to Fircrest. she wanted to take me off all my pain meds and treated me like an addict. im not an addict i dot need to be weaned off anything. i hate pain meds but i need them sometimes to get through the day. she wanted to "wean" me off of them. she assumed i needed to be weaned off. with out even giving me another solution for my pain. in this case, it felt like the doctor had already made her mind up about what the diagnosis is. she did not really entertain a theory I felt could be the case. Secondly, she said I would probably have the swab results within a week. I contacted them and was told it could take 2 weeks. Today [...] is now 2 weeks and I do not have an answer yet. The doctor was thorough with her exam and I feel she had the information i needed. She just came across as if she knew already without really giving a good reason why my theory wasn't possible. Since I haven't received lab results yet, I still think it's possible she was wrong. I'd really like to get my results soon.
