Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

[...] quality time with patients seems less important than how many can be seen in the Providence System.

Even at the end of a long day, still a big smile and asking how things are in my life.

At my last appointment she was running late through no fault of hers. That seems to happen often. Maybe over scheduling is the problem.

She was engaging. I appreciated her looking at me not the computer.

talks very fast, so is harder to follow at times, but I understood what she said once heard.

Doctors need to make sure they make enough time to see a patient and listen to problems they have other than the ones they are seen for.

Great experiences with this provider. I think we will work fine together!

I received a brief vague explanation from my care provider as to why I had to wait so long before being seen. I felt that she was overwhelmed by the number of patients she had had to see? before seeing me. I left feeling that if more time was available for her, I may not have felt as if I was being rushed out of the exam room.

again I hate my Dr. I just deal with because it's so difficult to switch. right now I'm in the dark waiting to see if I have to have brain surgery... but Eileen just cares to lecture me and cut me off for other reasons then what I go in to see her for. I can't stand her lack of empathy, lack of bedside manner and her lack of important time frames to fill my prescription. she's always late in filling them and I'm bipolar...

I am grateful that Dr. Olinger accepted me as a new patient, spent so much time with me comprehensively reviewing my medical records, and made all the necessary referrals plus a follow-up appointment, despite the fact that my appointment was late in the day.

Dr. Olinger talks very fast so I have to "listen" very fast! [...] Otherwise, she's a good doctor for me.

Sometimes she is in a hurry. Lots of sick people, I guess.

As a physician myself, it is hard to say that ANY provider would totally meet my expectations!

Dr Olinger is very professional and listens to all my concerns. She explains everything and makes sure all my questions are answered. I am very confident she will always do what is best for me. She is a top notch Doctor and I do recommend her to friends and family.

04/05/2016
all of my concerns come from my observation that Dr Olinger is often rushed. That leaves me feeling that I may not be getting my information across to her clearly enough.

03/22/2016
I asked if I could be put on [...] instead of generic thyroid and was told it was best to stay on what I am on, but it wasn't clear to me why. If I want to pay for the real stuff I don't see why I shouldn't be put on it.

Dr. Olinger always seems to be able to take the time necessary when we meet. It never seems to be a rush.

She is always in a hurry and talks to fast. Interrupts when I have something to say or ask about a health situation. Jumps around on subjects which makes it very unclear about what is going on. Seems miffed when I bring something up that I would like clarified. Last time I left the appointment asking myself why I even went - I didn't feel like anything got accomplished. I know she is a good doctor and knows her stuff - that is why I stay with her - but the appointments are not very friendly and are so nerve wracking trying to follow what she is saying. It would be nice if she would listen to my concerns also. If this continues I will find a different doctor.

I find it a bit irritating when I am discouraged from talking about more than one issue at a visit.
