My background as an RN for 17 years has prepared me for serving my community as a primary care provider. I have a strong knowledge base in skin and wound care. I believe that a personal connection with my patients makes the difference in building an effective partnership. I look forward to serving the Olympia area for many years to come.

Personal Interests

I enjoy cooking for friends and family. Few things bring people closer than a shared meal. We live in such a beautiful area and I love to explore the country roads on my Harley with my spouse.

She tends to give out prescriptions rather than really get to the root of the problem. She gave me a prescription for a condition for which I didn't mention wanting a medication. The condition for which I did say I wanted some assistance, I didn't get any.

I generally prefer naturopathic care, but wanted a routine physical. the provider, Ms Rodman, had a belief that I rejected ALL allopathic health care, and that is not true. I did refuse the pheumonia vaccine (I am ethically opposed to vaccines), and was not enthusiastic about the prospect of a colonoscopy. For these reasons, Ms Rodman said that there was no point in my having a complete physical. This conclusion was a bit baffling to me. My take on it was that having a physical meant having procedures that I am not in favor of. To my knowledge, there is way more than that in a physical exam. She was not unfriendly, per se, but did not want to spend any extra time with me answering questions, and I did have some.

At first, I didn't feel like the Dr. and I would relate well, but that has improved. I am very thankful for everyone's acceptance of my service dog [...]even though he was prescribed by my previous doctor. Some offices make me uncomfortable and even make me wait is a separate room than the general public patients. I have never felt that segregation. Thank you. [...] seems to be becoming very comfortable at Providence.

Caitlin has a vast knowledge of medicine and is someone whom I trust. We have not known one another long enough, however, to have formed a solid doctor-patient relationship. The latter is my main concern, at this point.

i am brand new to this provider. coming from [...] health which I've had most of my life, it was a little difficult for me to find a new doctor. I'm just not used to the process. I can say that I am happy I chose this place. the kindness and attention I received was significantly better than what [...] health has ever provided me. the nurses actually listened and weren't in a big rush to get to the next patient. I'm really glad I chose this provider. This is what healthcare should be like. Thank you.

Trying to get a referral to the [...] pain clinic was a nightmare, who ever puts the referrals though was not doing their job. The could not get the right pain clinic or the correct insurance company in spite of multiple calls from me, the clinic, and the insurance company. It was as if someone in referrals wanted me to be in pain.

Receptionists are always unfriendly, never smile. I hate going into see Caitlin because I have to see them first. One time I needed a referral to another doctor and told one of them just to pass it on to Caitlin, but she insisted I had to be seen. So I came in, paid the copay, and Caitlin told me I didn't need to come in for that, that I could have called. […].

I am a new patient to this practice and although the ARNP was amazing, the front line staff and nurse were not on my first contact. When I called to get my initial appointment as a first time patient I was on the phone for 45min! Then when I tried to access help prior to my appointment I was treated as though I was being unreasonable. Thank goodness for the receptionist [...], once I got her I was treated in a far more respectful manor!

The receptionists have been a little snooty when I've gone in there. I was trying to get a referral to another doctor, which I just tried to do over the phone, and the receptionist told me I needed an appointment for that. When I went in, Caitlin Rodman and the nurse told me I didn't need to make an appointment for that kind of thing. I had to pay a $15 copay for that unneeded visit.

Made this appt to establish care as I had just moved here. There was not time to give information about my complete list of medical problems. No one asked me for a list of medical problems. i was told I would need to make another appointment to discuss two of my medical problems not discussed. A referral was made to a sleep clinic. When I got the letter in my chart it was to the wrong sleep center. When I called [...] to tell her this initially she did not believe me. This referral was redone after I urged her to talk with the provider. I have not yet received the replacement referral. I also was supposed to be referred to a cardiologist but have not received that referral yet either.
