Philosophy of Care

I believe the best care for patients is achieved through shared decisions with their physician. Outstanding patient care is delivered through listening to patients, scientific knowledge, treatment options and compassion. Excellent primary care is a key to better health for all.

Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments. These comments are the views and opinions of patients and are not endorsed by or necessarily reflect the views of Providence.

[...] Coming here from rural Texas, I am finding that the medical doctor/patient relationship is rather superficial It is due to the electronic record keeping, allowing little hands-on or even spontaneous conversation. My provider is not being criticized for he is a knowledgeable, gentle and caring person. and is simply doing as the medical profession does now. Leaving an office visit does not offer the same reassurances that it once did. Sadly, it is a sign of the times and something has been lost.

I have enlarged prostate but the doctor did not ask about symptoms or check prostate (not seen doctor for approximately 16 months). Doctor did call re: x-ray but I was unavailable at the time called back within 5 minutes and never received follow-on instructions regarding treatment plan as a result of x-ray. Mentioned shoulder pain and was told it might be related to age. No treatment plan prescribed re: pain or physical therapy.

May ?? have had a bad day. Seemed somewhat indifferent compared to prev visits. Like under an imposed time limit.

I trust and like the care provider, and have no complaints. He does not inspire me as much as some past doctors I have had with confidence in his experience and range of knowledge, but for my health care needs at this time I'm satisfied.

Dr. Singhall is very kind and compassionate. He takes the time to explain what is going on in a logical way and yet he is never condescending. He has an accent and I am hard of hearing. Sometimes I struggle to understand because of these two things. He is always patient with me until I understand. Excellent care.

I didn't want to be put on a lot of medication and my doctor worked with me to put me on the very basics to get my conditions under control and then start to ease back on them. he is respectful and considerate of my opinions.

I came in for a simple checkup. I don't feel that the time spent by the doctor was very meaningful or robust compared to past checkups. I even had to prompt the doctor to look at my back moles. I don't think its my job to point out areas that need to be looked at. I'm having some lower back pain that is somewhat odd for me and may relate to a herniated disc problem I had over 10 years ago, but I don't know that for certain. When I brought that up I don't think sufficient time was spent by the doctor to understand the issue.

For what seemed like a simple diagnoses Dr Singhal spent more time than I thought was even warranted... and is probably the first PCP I have ever considered to be "My" Doctor.

Care provider really listened to the symptoms and situations I was facing and asked pertinent questions that lead to what I believe to be an accurate diagnosis. I am feeling 100% better than when i came in.
