Philosophy of Care

I believe in developing good communication with my patients and their family members to ensure each patient is able to actively participate in decisions about their care. Beginning with the initial consult, I try to focus on the needs of the whole person and how their current medical issue and treatment plan might affect their everyday lives.

It's been 2 weeks since my visit and I'm still waiting for the PT to contact me to set up [...] therapy for a herniated disc. I called the office to inquire and, as always, had to leave a message. The nurse did contact me the next day to tell me they are waiting on authorization from my provider. Seems like a long wait. I have an MRI which shows the herniation. What's the question...?

Excellent service only - Problem was the 60 days between the MRI & getting any information as to results of testing.

Dr. Smitherman should teach "bedside manners" to other physicians who are not so skilled.

All excellent. I think the wait time is because Dr. Smitherman gives so much to each patient, which makes you feel really important to her.
