Philosophy of Care

I've always looked at my work from the standpoint of the value it will engender to the patient, divided by how costly it is to that patient, which includes the hazards to their health. I'm very proud to offer treatment options and procedures that offer significant value in terms of quality of life improvements to my patients.

Patient Ratings and Comments

The Patient Rating score is based on responses given during the CAHPS Patient Experience Survey. Responses are measured on a 10-point scale, with 10 being the best score. These scores are then translated to a 5-point scale in order to display results in a 5-star rating. Comments are also gathered from the same survey and displayed in their entirety with the exception of any language that may be considered slander, libel or contain private health information, which will be removed prior to publishing the comments.

If he cannot see the cause of pain.... it is almost dismissed as something you should work your way through by exercise and sweating.... however when the pain being felt prevents the exercise it is quite frustrating. this has happened twice. When he finally really listens the MRI etc. are ordered. He is a great surgeon, but really listening -at every appointment- is very important. He did listen at the last appointment.

Dr. Stonecipher was very thorough, and caring about my spine and hip concerns. He explained what he saw and how he came to the conclusions he did regarding my condition. As a surgeon, he did not push for a surgical treatment of my problem, leaving that as a last resort after we try other methods first.
