Sincere thanks to Providence from a patient's friend
Published August 24, 2015
For some time now we have referred to every Providence employee as a caregiver because every single person at Providence contributes to caring for our patients and our community in one form or another. This letter from a grateful Providence visitor is a beautiful example of how she felt cared for by medical staff, environmental services, food and nutrition, security, spiritual care and more.
"I wanted to extend my most sincere appreciation and gratitude for the excellent and remarkable care shown to my friend, who was admitted through your ER in July. She had suffered a heart attack. Dr. Haft, you are my hero and will always be that. To Dr. Smith and Dr. Duong, Dr. Lien, I offer my humble thanks. To your wonderful nurses, each and every one, my gratitude forever and always. To the sweet gentle man who cleaned the room each morning, and left a pretty card with a picture of a flower, thank you. To the kindest gentleman ever who is in charge of the parking garage, thank you for the kindness. Your sweet smile each morning did make a huge difference. To the darling girl at the Starbucks coffee who would have my coffee ready in a flash, thank you. You know, my friend and I have been friends for over 60 years. We became friends in the first grade. I fell in love with the cute little girl with freckles. Thanks to each of you, I have my friend still. There are no words to adequately express my thanks. Please know you will always be in my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers. Thank you also to your Chaplains, Father John, the lady who played the harp so beautifully. The list is long, my thanks will be eternal. God bless you. Respectfully, and ever so humbly."
Thank you, caregivers, for representing the spirit of compassion and our Mission each and every day.
