Dawson Place chosen as Amazon Local Love recipient
Published January 11, 2016
Amazon recently launched a new program called Amazon Local Love which gives back to local nonprofits. The first recipient was Dawson Place, a child advocacy center located in Everett. Dawson Place functions through the collaboration of many local entities, including Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse (PICAA), all working together to provide care for victims of sexual assault and physical abuse.
“The Intervention Center numbers have never been higher. This populations needs our help and Providence is stepping up to the plate, living our Mission. We are so proud to be a part of it,” says Diane Golden, manager of PICAA. In 2015, PICAA saw over 1,600 patients, about half of them children, at Dawson Place and at Providence Emergency Department.
Dawson Place relies on PICAA for medical exams, advocacy and community education. “Employee contributions are critical to help fund programs like PICAA. During the 2015 ‘I Give’ campaign, NWR caregivers pledged just over $16,000 in support directly to PICAA. This generous support will help replace outdated equipment and provide life changing resources to some of the most poor and vulnerable in our community.” Jennifer Coyle, director of annual giving. Thank you caregivers for your ongoing support of this much needed program!
