New Resources Coming with Caregiver Assistance Program Transition
Published June 9, 2014
Last week, we announced that Providence and Swedish are transitioning to a single, trusted service provider for our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), beginning July 1.
Northwest Washington Region will be transitioning from APS to ValueOptions, which has been serving our caregivers in California. By using a single vendor that knows our needs well, we can offer an even higher quality of service, and our combined purchasing power allows us to negotiate a lower cost. As a result, we’re also able to introduce several enhancements to the program, including the following:
Work/life phone consultation for any life event or matter of daily living. With work-life services, a personal navigator can help caregivers with dozens of life situations, such as the need for child or elder care, connecting them with community services and other resources.
- Video and phone counseling, focused on solutions, with secure access. Sessions do not count toward the limit of five face-to-face counseling sessions. Especially helpful for caregivers living in remote areas with fewer local counselors available.
- An award-winning website with changing well-being features every month. Includes audio and video clips, training programs and webinars, polls and quizzes, Manager Tools section for core leaders and more.
- Online self-help coaching modules. Topics include walking, weight loss, resilience, smoking cessation and substance abuse.
- Centralized contact for caregivers, core leaders and HR strategic partners. The dedicated, toll-free line, staffed 24/7 by licensed care managers, is now a centralized point of contact for HR strategic partners and core leaders, along with all Providence and Swedish caregivers and members of their families. Through this line, core leaders and HR strategic partners have access to a designated unit of workplace consultants who specialize in providing consultation and services related to health and performance solutions in the workplace.
