Volunteers needed for Project Homeless Connect on Thursday, July 9

Published June 15, 2015

The Professional Excellence Council is currently accepting volunteers for Project Homeless Connect which will be held on Thursday,  July 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. this year at Evergreen Middle School.

This year, Providence is the only group providing medical services and we have a high need of RN/NAC volunteers. We are not collecting supplies as these are being provided by other organizations. We will be doing screening and education in 5 areas:

  • Diabetes screening and education
  • Nutrition/BMI
  • Blood pressure/stroke screening and education
  • Lice checks and education (lice kits available)
  • Foot washing and assessment
Last year nearly 1,300 members of Snohomish County’s homeless population was served at this event. If you are able to volunteer even an hour or two of your time and expertise, it would be greatly appreciated and be a wonderful service to our community!

For more information or to volunteer, please contact Rhonda.Wright@providence.org

Due to the medical nature of the tasks being performed we will not have roles available for teenagers and older children. However United Way does have opportunities for teenagers and older children willing to volunteer. For more information, please contactphc@uwsc.org.
