Health eXpress Expands Service to Washington
Published March 2, 2015
As part of our priority to get people the right care in the right place at the right time, Providence Health eXpress has expanded availability to Washington residents. Anyone in Oregon or Washington can contact Health eXpress, however, the service will only be promoted in selected areas of Western Washington until details around Epic workflows and branding have been worked through.
Already available in Oregon, Providence Health eXpress is a Web and mobile service that allows patients to see a Providence doctor or nurse practitioner virtually, through their computer, smartphone or tablet. This can save people time and money, and provide the high-quality care expected from Providence, immediately and without having to travel to the doctor’s office. Health eXpress is ideal for non-acute conditions like cough, colds, flu, sinus, and ear and eye infections. After each visit, Health eXpress providers work to establish care for the patient with a Providence primary care provider.
An online visit is currently priced at $39, payable by credit card, debit card or Health Savings Account at the time of visit. Insurance coverage is dependent on the person’s insurance plan. Providence Health Plan is accepted. For additional details, please see these answers to frequently asked questions. Providence caregivers are encouraged to use the service. Visit the Providence Health eXpress website to download the mobile app.
Health eXpress is an example of how Providence is using digital technology to improve the patient experience through easier access and by providing the online health care tools that patients have come to expect in this digital age. In the future, telehealth and services like Health eXpress will be a part of what we do every day to care for our communities.
