Providence Regional Medical Center Everett receives 2014 SightLife Award

Published May 18, 2015

SightLife presented Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with the 2014 Hospital of the Year Award for being the #1 Cornea Donor Hospital. This is a great recognition for our commitment and efforts to organ donation and the fifth consecutive year PRMCE has been the leader in the region for supporting donation.

Some highlights of the 2014 award:

  • PRMCE made 1,196 referral calls resulting in 315 opportunities to speak with families about the gift of Cornea donation.
  • 229 of those 315 donation discussions resulted in grieving families generously gifting blind individuals the opportunity to regain sight and for researchers and surgeons the opportunity to advance science and transplant techniques globally.
  • PRMCE’s work provided sight restoration to 279 individuals.
  • PRMCE’s first quarter was record breaking with 55 generous donors and in 2015 the first quarter has been another record of 69 donors.
