Disaster Preparedness: Plans for Senior Citizens

After a massive ice storm hit the Greater Rochester, New York area, in 2003, a group of senior citizen grouped together with the American Red Cross and created a manual they wish they would have had prior to their two-week power outage. “We were unprepared for such a disaster. If we had only taken a few simple steps to prepare ourselves for such an event, we could have eliminated many of the hardships we had to endure.”
