New Email Attack is Hitting Providence Servers Today, Oct. 29
Published October 29, 2014
To all caregivers,
Please be alert. Providence’s email servers are currently being bombarded by malicious emails (also known as a phishing attack). Please take these actions to safeguard our system and your own account:
- Do not open email from unexpected sources or with unexpected messages in the subject line. Delete the email.
- Do not open attachments or links from an unknown source. You can hover over a link to check on the address it is directing you to.
- If you are unsure please forward any suspicious email to firstname.lastname@example.org for review.
Remember: Providence will never ask for your user password via email.
Help support our technology by being cautious in responding to emails. Like patient related information, your ID and password are also confidential information that must be protected!
Thank you for your vigilance,
Chief Information Security Officer
