Message from Preston M. Simmons, FACHE, Chief executive officer, Northwest Washington Region
Last Spring, we were pleased to announce the partnership between Providence Regional Medical Center Everett and Fairfax Behavioral Health to address a growing need in our community. After months of hard work, logistical planning and preparation, we are excited that the opening is just about here and Fairfax Behavioral Health Everett will open its doors to our community on September 29.
The 30-bed unit will provide short-term crisis stabilization for voluntary and involuntary patients in a structured environment. The types of patients admitted to Fairfax Everett may include individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety and other less acute conditions. Adding this level of specialty care to the PRMCE increases the quality of care provided on campus, strengthens our ability to serve patients of all walks of life and to ultimately, create healthier communities, together.
Although it will operate within the walls of PRMCE, Fairfax will function as a hospital within a hospital, meaning Fairfax will manage the operations but the facility will be located on our campus and will contract with us for support services. Additionally, our partnership with Fairfax Everett provides Providence and Swedish clinicians in western Washington an additional option for behavioral health referrals. All referral assessments will be completed through Fairfax Kirkland before a patient is admitted to Fairfax Everett.
Please join us on Monday, Sept. 15, for the Fairfax Everett open house from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m on the 7th floor of the Pacific Campus. Any Providence and Swedish caregivers are invited to attend for a tour or an opportunity to ask questions.
