Heart and Vascular Services and Treatments
Heart and Vascular Services at Providence Regional provides a spectrum of services that exceeds many programs in Washington.
Our goal is to help you understand how to decrease your risk for heart disease by pinpointing risks before symptoms occur. With screenings, classes, cardiac rehabilitation and prevention programs, we are here to help reduce the incidence and impact of cardiovascular and pulmonary disease in our community.
When heart-related symptoms occur, we provide a broad array of non-invasive diagnostic tools such as electrocardiograms, treadmill studies, echocardiography and more. If needed, we provide angiography services to locate the source of the problem. Our goal is to find the cause of pain or disability as quickly as possible.
Our heart and vascular interventional labs are state-of-the-art, providing advanced plaque removing techniques, stent placement interventions, and minimally-invasive valve replacement. Most importantly, our highly skilled physicians and staff serve three times as many heart attack and stroke patients, compared to similar hospitals.
Our electrophysiology lab is one of the few of its kind in the nation. This lab allows our cardiologists to provide a broader array of techniques to manage irregular heartbeats. Along with the availability of external defibrillators, we offer pacemakers and implantable defibrillators, our three-dimensional mapping and ablation equipment creates the ability to tackle the most difficult cases.
Our surgeons perform some of the most complicated coronary and peripheral artery bypass and valve procedures available, including the minimally invasive TAVR procedure. In addition, we are one of the few programs in the Puget Sound area to perform the remarkable TMR (transmyocardial revascularization) laser surgery alternative to treat chronic angina and AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) stent grafts to aneurysm repairs. We also perform the Maze procedure for atrial fibrillation and carotid endarterectomy for neck artery blockages, two major causes of stroke.
Providence Regional Medical Center's Heart and Vascular Services is the only tertiary interventional resource in the region. We work with six community hospitals to provide heart and stroke patients with local access to the appropriate level of care.
