Pediatric Cardiac Care

Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital brings together the skills of specialists in the areas of cardiology, cardiac surgery and cardiac anesthesiology to deliver expert personalized care for infants, children and adolescents with heart disease. Pediatric Oncology Care

The Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center specializes in the care of children who require diagnosis and treatment of cancer or blood disorders. Sacred Heart Children's Hospital offers an 18-bed inpatient unit, as well as a full outpatient unit where children can visit the oncologists and receive treatment. Neonatal Intensive Care

The Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU) is dedicated to the care of acutely ill term and pre-term babies born at Sacred Heart or transported here for Level III medical or surgical care. The patient conditions most often found in the NICU include respiratory distress; congenital problems including congenital heart, gastrointestinal and neurological defects, and infection.

Pediatric Intensive Care

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), is 20-bed unit located on the third floor of Sacred Heart Medical Center, serving a wide range of critical care diagnoses. Care is also provided for children who are not critical, but require specialized monitoring and close observation.

Neurological, cardiac, surgical and trauma are among the critical conditions seen in the PICU. Compassionate care is provided by a team of registered nurses, respiratory therapists, pediatric intensivists (physicians) and clinical pharmacists, all with specialized training in the care of critically ill children. Support staff, also specially trained in Pediatrics, includes case management, chaplaincy, child life specialists, dieticians, as well as occupational, speech, and physical therapists. Spokane Children's Intensive Care
