The Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center in Walla Walla is the first center in the region devoted exclusively to cancer treatment, and it continues to be a leader in the field, serving Washington, Oregon, Idaho and beyond.
At Providence St. Mary Regional Cancer Center, we believe cancer is a journey we undertake with you as partners in your care, offering you the latest in treatments and support in an environment that is calm, caring and healing.
We understand how difficult a cancer diagnosis can be, both for you and your family. We do all we can to help by offering free support programs and classes for you and your family, as well as housing for out-of-town patients, and assistance with issues such as insurance forms and financial concerns. We also house an American Cancer Society Cancer Resource Center, which has some of the best cancer information available. We are accredited with commendations by the Commission on Cancer Accreditation Program.
We use a team approach to the treatment. Your team of specialists and other professionals will address your cancer with the most effective options available, and tailor treatment to your needs and preferences. Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy or any combination of these, depending on the type and extent of the cancer. We also participate in clinical research trials, giving you access, if you wish, to the very latest in cancer treatment.
Serving patients from Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, the Providence St. Mary Neuroscience Institute is a comprised of a multidisciplinary team specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions. The neurosurgeons, neurologists, and physiatrists at the Institute work closely with your primary care physician and other medical specialists to provide a comprehensive, individually tailored program for you from diagnosis through treatment and rehabilitation.
Within the Providence St. Mary Neurosciences Institute is the Regional Spine Center. The center brings together a comprehensive range of surgical and non-surgical treatment options for people with spinal conditions.
Emergency and Intensive Care
Providence St. Mary Medical Center offers the Walla Walla Valley’s most advanced technology and care for serious injury and illness.
We have the only Emergency Center in the valley where every physician is board certified and residency trained in emergency medicine. Our Emergency Center nurses receive special training as well. As a Level III Trauma Center, Providence St. Mary Emergency Center is a primary receiving hospital for trauma care in the region.
In 2012, we opened a new, state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit to further advance the care of severely ill and injured individuals in the region. Providence St. Mary has the area’s largest number of critical-care-certified nurses, as well as pulmonologists board-certified in critical care.
