2012

  • The Society of Thoracic Surgeons 3 Stars: Cardiac surgery is honored with “3 Stars” from The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) through its comprehensive rating system for the quality of cardiac surgery among hospitals. Fewer than 15 percent of hospitals in the U.S. received the 3 Star rating, which signifies the highest category of quality for clinical excellence based on National Quality Forum standards.

  • Patient Center Medical Home: The National Committee for Quality Assurance has awarded Providence St. Peter Family Medicine formal recognition as a Patient Centered Medical Home at the highest of their three levels of recognition. Read more >>
  • Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (USDMR) Recognition: This achievement distinguishes Providence St. Peter Hospital's Inpatient Rehabilitation program as ranked in the top 10 percent of nearly 800 inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the United States. Additionally, the Inpatient Rehabilitation program is the only facility in Southwest Washington - and one of two in the entire state- to receive this ranking.
  • ENERGY STAR is the national symbol for protecting the environment through energy efficiency, recognized by over half of all U.S. households. PSPH is one of 7 hospitals in Washington State and 97 hospitals across the U.S. to be granted this certification.

2010

  • Magnet Recognition: The Magnet Recognition Program® recognizes the top health care organizations in the nation for providing nursing excellence.
  • CARF Accredited Physical Rehabilitation Program
  • Providence Mission Leadership Award: Providence Health & Services’ Board of Directors has awarded the 2010 Mission Leadership Award to Providence St. Peter Hospital’s Emergency Department Consistent Care Program (EDCCP). The program was recognized for outstanding mission innovation in response to unmet community needs.
  • American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Silver Plus Performance Achievement Award: The award recognizes commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stroke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
  • OR Manager of the Year by the OR Manager publication: Providence St Peter Hospital Director of Perioperative Services, Lorna Eberle, RN, BSN, CNOR, has been selected OR Manager of the Year by the OR Manager publication advisory board. This award recognizes the leadership of nurses who supervise the more than 45,000 operating rooms across the country.
  • LIVESTRONG Community Impact Project Award Recipient: Cancer Transitions™ is designed to support, educate and empower people with cancer in the transitional period after treatment is over. The program incorporates support groups, education, nutrition and physical exercise, as well as addressing other medical management, psychosocial and quality of life issues. The program also provides survivors with practical tools and resources to formulate a personal action plan for survivorship beyond their participation in Cancer Transitions

  • Primary Stroke Center Re-certification: This achievement distinguishes Providence St. Peter Hospital’s Stroke Specialty Program as the only endorsed stroke treatment services available in the South Puget Sound.
  • Qualis Award for Excellence
  • March of Dimes Healthy Babies Healthy Business Award: The award symbolizes Providence St. Peter’s commitment to providing a healthy and nurturing work environment which promotes healthy behaviors that can significantly impact the health of pregnancy and the health of the baby.
  • Ascent Healthy Hospital Award: Ascent Healthcare Solutions, the leading independent third-party reprocessor of single-use medical devices, recognizes those healthcare facilities that have made a commitment to radically reduce the amount of medical waste in landfills.
  • Practice Greenhealth Partner Recognition Award: For health care facilities that have made environmental improvements, and have a 10 percent recycling rate for their total waste stream. Providence St. Peter Hospital exceeds the benchmark with a 28 percent recycling rate.
  • 2009 Making Mercury Free Award: Recognizes facilities that have nearly eliminated mercury from their facilities and have made a commitment to continue to be “mercury free.”
