PGY1/PGY2/MHA Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Fellowship
The Department of Pharmacy Services at Providence Southwest Washington offers a two-year combined PGY1/PGY2/MHA Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership residency in collaboration with Pacific University School of Pharmacy
This program will train residents to assume senior management, supervisory and leadership responsibilities within health-system pharmacy.
During the first year of training, you will be a member of the PGY1-Pharmacy Residency class at Providence St. Peter Hospital. You will be expected to meet the requirements of that residency program.
During the second year, you will complete the requirements of the PGY2-Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency program. You also will participate in all aspects of administration and management of pharmacy services within the southwest Washington region of Providence.
Your Master of Health Administration (MHA) coursework will be completed over the span of the two-year residency.
Upon completion of the PGY1/PGY2/MHA program, you will work as an Administrative Fellow, Pharmacy Services for one year. As part of the Pharmacy Leadership team, the Administrative Fellow will have administrative responsibility and authority for assigned areas within the southwest Washington region of Providence.
Candidates accepted into the two-year Providence St. Peter Hospital Pharmacy Administrative Residency are graduate students simultaneously enrolled in the MHA Program at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Total commitment for the program is 36 months:
- Year 1: PGY1 Pharmacy Practice
- Year 2: PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership
- Complete requirements for MHA degree
- Year 3: Administrative Fellow (work commitment)

Please note, as a new program, we are in pre-candidate status with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. After our first resident starts the program, we will apply for accreditation.
