Palliative Care, Hospice, and the Critical Care Unit
This online education program is intended for in-patient and out-patient providers.
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Summarize significant research addressing palliative care in intensive care units.
- Describe the important role of the CCU team in providing palliative care and discuss when some patients/families in the CCU might benefit from specialty palliative care (a palliative care consult).
- Introduce and explain to a family the role of the Palliative Care Consult Team in the CCU and in the hospital and explain how Palliative Care differs from Hospice.
