Family Birth Center

WA_FamilyBirthCenter

Wherever you live in Southwest Washington, Providence is the place to have your baby. As expectant parents, you may be in the process of choosing the hospital where your baby will be born.

Your Birthing Experience

At the Providence St. Peter Hospital Family Birth Center, our focus is family-centered care, providing an atmosphere of warmth and nurturing supported by high-quality clinical care. We welcome your family and support partners to share in your birthing experience.

Our board-certified obstetricians/gynecologists, family practice physicians and certified midwives deliver 2,000 babies each year—more than any other hospital in the five-county area. And just in case your baby needs it, you’ll be reassured to know we have a Level II Special Care Nursery. Our experienced staff is trained to take care of pre-term babies, high-risk infants and babies with feeding or breathing problems.

Breastfeeding Support and Resources for You and Your Baby

Lactation Consultations

We offer free lactation consultations to moms staying at the Family Birth Center. Our board-certified lactation consultant is available to assist with breastfeeding concerns and to help develop an initial feeding plan. Breast pump equipment is available to rent or purchase through Lullabies, the hospital’s gift shop for babies and moms.

The group will meet every Tuesday and Saturday in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Classroom at PSPH from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. We are asking that participants call the FBC at (360) 493-7027 the day of the meeting to confirm their attendance.

Mothers and infants are welcome to join the group which meets twice a week in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Classroom. Participants are encouraged to bring their own breastfeeding pillow and breast pump. Classes start September 30th, 2017.
