Neuro-Oncology Program

The Neuro-oncology Program at Providence Regional Neuroscience Center treats patients with cancers of the central nervous system, including brain and spine tumors:

  • Astrocytomas
  • Gliomas
  • Meningiomas
  • Metastatic Brain Tumors
  • Pituitary Tumors
  • Pseudotumor Cerebri
  • Skull-Base Tumors
  • Spinal Tumors

Physicians from a variety of specialties work together to create customized treatment plans for each patient that may include the latest chemotherapy, radiation technology or surgical procedure.

Clinical trials may also be an option for certain patients, and physicians at Providence have access to national research studies through such organizations as the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG).

As a patient at Providence, your care team may include neuroradiologists (who diagnose neurological conditions), neurosurgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, neurologists and physiatrists (rehabilitation specialists). Experienced nurses, physical therapists, counselors and other experts also provide care to help you and your loved ones deal with the physical and emotional impact that cancer can have on your life.
