Innovative Technology

  • Biodex and Lite Gait Unweighing Systems
Our body weight support system can be used with or without a treadmill. This system allows a single individual to move patients weighing up to 500 pounds from a seated position to proper upright posture. The patient is kept in a comfortable, fall-free environment, enabling both the patient and the therapist to concentrate on standing much earlier in the rehabilitation process. The body weight support system is like a 2nd set of hands, because it frees the therapist to observe gait patterns and make manual adjustments in limb placement, weight shift, walking symmetry and gait timing.

  • Apple iPad
The iPad is used for cognitive retraining and developing communication skills.

  • Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation
The electrical stimulation system activates muscles that have been affected by stroke. This functional electrical stimulation is used to move the affected areas through repetitive exercises as part of the patient's therapy program. It can be use to stimulate hand or ankle motion.

  • Bioness IntegratedTherapy System (BITS™)
The 65” touchscreen display is used to evaluate and improve visual, motor, perceptual and cognitive skills in individuals with disabilities resulting from stroke, traumatic injuries and movement disorders as well as improve performance in competitive athletes.

  • Dynavision
The Dynavision is a computerized board used to improve visual and motor function in patients where this has been compromised by injury or disease. The equipment is used by therapists to improve reaction time, peripheral vision, the ability to find objects in the environment and coordinated arm movements.

  • Computerized Video Game System (Wii)
The Nintendo Wii is used to help advance one’s rehabilitation goals by simulating a wide variety of functional movements a person will use throughout the course of a day.

  • Videoflouroscopy
This onsite radiological test assesses your ability to safely swallow. It may be ordered to help determine the risk of choking or aspiration (food or drink getting into the lungs).
