After Surgery

After surgery, inpatients will be transported to a private room in the hospital. You will be discharged from the hospital when your doctor determines you are ready to go home.

If you are scheduled for an outpatient surgery, you will be discharged the day of surgery after an adequate period of recovery and observation.

Please do not do any of the following for 24 hours after your surgery:

  • Be alone
  • Operate heavy machinery
  • Drive a car
  • Drink alcohol
  • Sign legal papers
  • Be responsible for another person
