Diversity and Inclusion

Recognizing Culture and Diversity Is Important and Necessary

Providence Hospice of Seattle is a culturally diverse and culturally sensitive organization. We understand that culture shapes choices for life support and care, and we strive to work with you to understand your unique cultural or religious end-of-life issues.

Providence Hospice of Seattle provides excellent palliative and end of life care that is inclusive of all. Respect is one of our core values. We recognize that each patient and family has a unique background that is formed by such factors as culture, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religious preference and sexual orientation. We encourage open and sensitive discussion so that our staff and volunteers can tailor our care to meet the needs of our patients, families and loved ones. This same principle applies to our diverse and inclusive staff who share a common belief that sensitive palliative and end of life care is fundamental.

As part of our efforts to reach out to various communities in the King County Area we offer a wide array of free educational opportunities. A description of these can be found in the Speaker's Bureau section of our webpage.

As a recipient of Federal financial assistance, Providence Hospice of Seattle does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person on the grounds of gender, race, color, national origin, religious preference, disability, sexual orientation or age in admission to, participation in, or receipt of the services and benefits under any of its programs and activities, whether carried out by Providence Hospice of Seattle directly or through a contractor or any other entity with which Providence Hospice of Seattle arranges to carry out its programs and activities.

We invite you to return to this page for updates on open-to-the-public sessions and workshops.
