Everett – Providence Regional Medical Center invites the public to celebrate Cancer Care Awareness Month by attending the Lung Health Fair Thursday, November 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Medical Office Building on Providence Regional’s Colby Campus, 1321 Colby Avenue, Everett.
Respiratory care practitioners, thoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, nurse practitioners and other health care professionals will provide lung screenings, lung health exhibits, lectures and other activities to raise awareness of respiratory health issues such as cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Hands-on demonstrations include:
- Respiratory care and the role of a respiratory therapist on the healthcare team
- Spirometry testing – how healthy are your lungs?
- Patient ventilator demonstrations
This educational day is especially beneficial to those who smoke – showing the effects of tobacco on the respiratory system. Information about the Stop Smoking Tool Shop will also be available at the event.
