Spokane, WA—Pediatric Associates of Spokane, a group which includes five pediatricians, and two nurse practitioners, will join Providence Medical Group, effective April 1, 2014. The providers will continue to see patients at their two current office locations: South Spokane in the Sacred Heart Doctor’s Building and on the North Side at 235 E. Rowan Ave. near Holy Family Hospital.

Providence Medical Group is the physician services organization within Providence Health Care, owner of Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children’s Hospital and Holy Family Hospital. Today, Providence Medical Group includes more than 500 physicians and advanced practitioners in Spokane and Stevens counties. In addition to primary care physicians, its medical staff includes a wide array of surgical subspecialists and medical specialists.

“Pediatric Associates of Spokane is a highly regarded and established pediatric practice that has been serving children across Spokane since 1903. We are delighted to have this group of pediatricians who have loved and cared for generations of families join the Providence Medical Group family,” says Judy Felgenhauer, MD, clinical lead for Providence Medical Group Pediatrics and a pediatric hematologist/oncologist.

”With a history of pediatric care dating back to 1903, the physicians and staff at Pediatric Associates of Spokane are excited to join Providence and share a long-standing tradition of high quality medical care,” says Kristi Rice, MD, Pediatric Associates. “Our physicians and the pediatric specialists at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital have worked together since the hospital began, and this new relationship will allow even greater collaboration as we meet the needs of children throughout the region.”

“With the addition of Pediatric Associates of Spokane, along with Valley Young People’s Clinic in the Spokane Valley (which joined Providence on January 1), Providence now provides convenient access to pediatric medical care for children and their families in neighborhoods across the Spokane community," says Dr. Felgenhauer. We share Pediatric Associates of Spokane’s commitment to providing exceptional, convenient care to children and their families, and together, we can improve the health of the community.”
