The Family Medicine and Internal Medicine providers who joined Providence Medical Group following the closure of Walla Walla General Hospital will begin seeing patients again in early September.

If you were a patient of one of these providers, here are a few helpful things to know.

What can I do if I’m running out of prescription medication?

If you are running out of your prescription medication, please call your pharmacy for a refill. Although your prescription may say on the bottle or box that you have no refills left, many of the providers sent refill orders in to pharmacies for their patients to ensure they didn’t run out during the interim.

If your pharmacy does not have a refill order for your prescription, there are a number of options to get one. These two may be the fastest for you:

  • Make a same-day appointment with Providence Express Care across from Wal-Mart in College Place by clicking here, or calling 888-227-3312.
  • Call Providence Family Medicine at 509-897-3700.

Please do not go to the Emergency Department for a prescription refill.

I had an appointment in September with my Adventist Health provider, who has now joined Providence. Does that appointment still exist?

If you have a pre-existing appointment after the date that the provider is schedule to re-open his or her practice, our staff will call you to see if you want to keep the appointment.

Once we have added into the providers’ schedules all of the pre-existing appointments, we will open the schedules to new appointments.
