Eyes and Nose
Infants often have eye discharge during the first few weeks. Wipe it away with a moist clean washcloth. Always wipe eyes from the inside corner out. If the discharge is unusually heavy or if the eyelids are swollen or red, call the physician.
You may clean the nose and ear openings with a moist, clean cotton swab if necessary. Never poke cotton swabs or any other object inside the nose. You may gently clean ears by wiping with a damp, clean cloth or a cotton swab, but never poke any object inside the ear.
