Susan Denapoli

Hometown: Derry, NH

Pharmacy School: St. John Fisher College – Wegmans School of Pharmacy

Current Residency Project: Expanding pharmacist services into physician clinics as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Why I chose Providence:Providence has an amazing mission statement behind their work, which is to serve those in greatest need with compassion, respect, justice and excellence. This mission statement resonated with me and my personal beliefs. Beyond that, the direct patient care and anticoagulation opportunities offered aligned perfectly with my professional interests. The unique chance to manage patients with hepatitis C peaked my interest as well. The experience I will gain at Providence will prepare me to be a well-rounded pharmacist on a patient care team in the future.

Professional Interests: Anticoagulation, ambulatory care, psychiatrics.

Personal Interests: Traveling, outdoor activities (hiking, kayaking, etc.), writing and spending time with family and friends.

Hayden Ingram

Current Residency Project: Developing a pharmacy practice care model for management of disease modifying agents.

Why I chose Providence: I wanted to experience the progressive pharmacy model that Providence practices while staying true to its mission. This program includes a variety of learning opportunities that I look forward to this next year.

Professional Interests: Ambulatory care, diabetes and under-served populations.

Personal Interests: Making and judging beer, kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, going to concerts, playing all sports and watching the turtle races in Coeur d’Alene.

Luke Dearden - Ambulatory Pharmacy Resident in Spokane, WA.

Current Residency Project: Utilizing clinical pharmacists to streamline treatment of patients with hepatitis c in a medical residency teaching clinic.

Why I chose Providence: The variety of learning opportunities available made this residency program an excellent option for me in an effort to expand my education. Here, I was presented with clear objectives featuring unique experiences that truly interest me. While Providence is a well-established and respected organization, the PGY-1 ambulatory care program at Sacred Heart is just beginning. I was intrigued, and could not pass up the opportunity to contribute and leave a legacy of my own.

Professional Interests: Psychiatric, long-term care and ambulatory care pharmacy.

Personal Interests: Exploring the world, the Portland Trailblazers, golfing and writing.

Phu Trinh - Ambulatory Pharmacy Resident in Spokane, WA.

Current Residency Project: Initiating a pharmacist-physician practice care model for opioid-dependent patients using buprenorphine/naloxone in an ambulatory care setting.

Why I chose Providence: Sacred Heart's values and mission align with my career goals of becoming a well-rounded clinician and a leader in the community. During my interview at Providence, I immediately noticed the welcoming atmosphere in the program and relationships that were developed between the staff and the patients. This facilitated an environment where growth, education and learning was highly encouraged. Providence's rich history of progressive practices and patient-centered health care is a major deciding factor for my decision. I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to develop my skills and knowledge to become a well-rounded practicing pharmacist at Providence Sacred Heart.

Professional Interests: Ambulatory care, diabetes, anticoagulation and psychiatric.

Personal Interests: Spending time with family and friends, snowboarding, basketball, guitar, cooking, outdoors, trying new foods, breweries and coffee shops.
