2019 Two-County Double Metric Century

The Providence Regional Cancer System and The Mayday Foundation are partnering together to support local families who are experiencing financial hardships due to a recent cancer diagnosis.

Join us on Sunday, June 23 for the annual Two-County Double Metric Century.

From diagnosis to treatment and more, you’ll learn what to expect as you navigate the path ahead. Resources will be available, plus time to ask questions.

Cancer Survivor Celebration

Join us as we honor cancer survivors, caregivers, and family members. 

Keynote speaker Robert Hawke is a speaker, comedian and cancer survivor. Rob uses his 20 years of comedic experience and the lessons he learned in his battle with cancer to uplift and entertain audiences across the country. His keynotes “You Got This! Going From Burned Out to Turned On” and “Connecting With Patients: The Final Frontier” inspire professionals to find inspiration, meaning and depth in their work. View event flyer.

Please join us for a complimentary evening of resources and support, led by Cobie Whitten, Ph.D. Cobie has extensive experience working with cancer patients. She’ll provide information and assistance for people at all points along the cancer journey. Patients, family members, friends and non-Providence patients are all welcome.

A Movement System Approach to the Hip

This course will review the functional anatomy of the hip joint and the relationship between the acetabulum and proximal femur. Examples of movement system diagnoses of the hip joint will be introduced. The critical elements of a movement system diagnosis will be reviewed, and key components of exercise and functional training interventions will be provided.

Strategies for Assessment & Treatment Following Tracheostomy: An Interactive Seminar

This interactive seminar provides clinical information regarding the basics of a tracheostomy, including the physiologic impact of tracheostomy on a patient’s respiratory, speech, and swallowing functions. Clinicians will learn step-by- step strategies to assess for the use of a no-leak speaking valve to restore communication, improve swallow, improve secretion management, and restore subglottic pressure in adults who require tracheostomy.
