Introducing Cecily Clemons, major gift officer

Cecilys headshotCecily Clemons has been named major gift officer for Providence St. Peter Foundation. Cecily comes to the position with a wide range of experience, having dedicated three decades of work to the nonprofit sector in fundraising, communications and organization management.

For more than 30 years, Cecily dedicated her career to the advancement of nonprofit organizations, from performing arts, education, and conservation to health care. For more than 20 years, she has focused her career on all facets of fundraising and spent eight years with University of Washington Medicine, raising major gifts for a variety of medical specialties including cardiology, radiology, endocrinology, surgery and endocrinology, among others.

“It has been a tremendous honor and privilege not only to be a part of advancing important causes but also to help catalyze and fulfill the philanthropic passions of others,” Cecily says.

Cecily says that for the past two years, she has been working in a different sector as director of development and communications, but she found that she missed the medical environment. “I find medical fundraising to be inspirational—from my work with donors, to patients, to physicians and caregivers,” she says. “I believe there is nothing more rewarding than being part of a team whose core Mission is to help the less fortunate and vulnerable.”

Cecily says she is very pleased to be joining the Providence St. Peter Foundation team to help develop, and grow, a major gift program.

“I believe our work together will have long-reaching, positive impacts for the hospital and for the community,” Cecily says. “I’m excited to be at Providence to help secure important funding, but most importantly to advance our Mission of caring for others with respect, compassion and stewardship.”
