Children's Miracle Network Hospital Sponsors

As an integral part of Children's Miracle Network, our sponsor organizations are united with people dedicated to helping kids. Together with our hospitals, they make Children's Miracle Network the most effective, efficient, and compelling example in the world of people working together for kids.

Ace Hardware

Ace retailers participate in two in-store Miracle Balloon campaigns each year, and the Ace Hardware Foundation hosts a number of major fundraising events. Their success stems from creative fundraising efforts and the generous contributions of Ace retailers, vendor partners and Ace team members. In addition to these large events, Ace retailers and Ace retail support centers and store owners host a number of regional fundraising events ranging from golf outings, barbeque events, fishing tournaments and garage sales.

Arby's was founded in 1964, but the concept for a roast beef sandwich franchise was rooted many years earlier. Forrest Raffel, a graduate of Cornell University School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration, and his younger brother Leroy, a graduate of Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania, bought an uncle's restaurant equipment business in the 1950s. Raffel Brothers, Inc. became a fitting introduction to the foodservice industry, and the small company rapidly grew to become one of the country's leading foodservice consulting companies.

Raffel Brothers, Inc. designed and installed hundreds of foodservice facilities including the flight kitchens at Greater Pittsburgh International Airport, interiors of six Ohio Turnpike restaurants and foodservice facilities for the Hospitality Inn motel chain for Standard Oil of Ohio.

Costco operates an international chain of membership warehouses, mainly under the "Costco Wholesale" name, that carry quality, brand name merchandise at substantially lower prices than are typically found at conventional wholesale or retail sources. The warehouses are designed to help small-to-medium-sized businesses reduce costs in purchasing for resale and for everyday business use. Individuals may also purchase for their personal needs.

Costco's warehouses present one of the largest and most exclusive product category selections to be found under a single roof. Categories include groceries, candy, appliances, television and media, automotive supplies, tires, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewelry, watches, cameras, books, housewares, apparel, health and beauty aids, tobacco, furniture, office supplies and office equipment. Costco is known for carrying top quality national and regional brands, with 100% satisfaction guaranteed, at prices consistently below traditional wholesale or retail outlets.

Members can also shop for private label Kirkland Signature products, designed to be of equal or better quality than national brands, including juice, cookies, coffee, tires, housewares, luggage, appliances, clothing and detergent. The Company also operates self-service gasoline stations at a number of its U.S. and Canadian locations.

According to Jim Sinegal, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, "Costco is able to offer lower prices and better values by eliminating virtually all the frills and costs historically associated with conventional wholesalers and retailers, including salespeople, fancy buildings, delivery, billing and accounts receivable. We run a tight operation with extremely low overhead which enables us to pass on dramatic savings to our members."

Credit Unions for Kids

At a credit union, you are a member of a collective effort. This effort reaches from within the credit union to the community at large. What better way to make a positive impact in your local area as a credit union member than through Children's Miracle Network. The credit union philosophy of "people helping people" accurately reflects the role of Children's Miracle Network's Credit Unions for Kids fund raising program within today's credit union movement.

Children's Miracle Network has become the charity of choice for America's credit unions for one simple reason- 100% of all funds raised stay local. This represents a unique opportunity for credit unions and their members to positively impact their own communities. Credit unions nation-wide have discovered that fund raising for their local Children's Miracle Network hospital is the way to exhibit the integral role credit unions play in America's communities.

Today, Children's Miracle Network's Credit Unions for Kids program is endorsed by nearly all 50 state credit union leagues and is the charity of choice for America's credit union movement.  Every penny stays in the local areas where it was raised. Credit unions from Alaska to California and from Florida to Maine banded together to demonstrate the compassion and generosity found within credit unions and their members.

Children's Miracle Network's credit union program is both diverse and expansive. Through the extensive nationwide effort of America's credit unions, there is one glue that binds this program together- commitment to kids. Credit unions have shown that they truly do believe in "people helping people" through their tireless efforts to help local children. On behalf of the 17 million children treated each year at Children's Miracle Network hospitals, we would like to sincerely thank the millions of members brought together by their commitment to kids.

Thanks to our Spokane, WA Credit Unions for supporting Children's Miracle Network Hospitals!

In the United States, Walmart operates more than 4,000 retail locations consisting of Walmart Stores, Supercenters, Sam’s Clubs and Neighborhood Markets. The company employs 1.8 million people, and more than 150 million customers visit a Walmart store each week. But in addition to being the world’s largest retailer, Walmart has another important distinction: Walmart is the United States’ largest corporate donor of cash, contributing over $275 million last year to charitable causes (which equals almost $32,000 an hour or over $8 a second.)

Walmart’s drive to give back to the communities they serve began with the company’s founder, Sam Walton. He believed strongly that good business and good citizenship go hand in hand. In 1987, ‘Mr. Sam’ was approached by Children’s Miracle Network to become a corporate sponsor and fundraiser. He immediately committed his company and its resources to raising money for children’s hospitals with the promise that “the associates will amaze you.” And indeed they have!

Their passion pays off: In 2008 alone, Walmart and its associates raised a record-breaking $33.5 million for the 170 participating hospitals. If you ask Walmart leadership how they accomplish such a great task, they modestly reply, “It’s one associate, raising $1 for one child at a time.”
