From pre-pregnancy planning, to childbirth care and delivery, our clinic strives for family-centered involvement.

In-Office Fetal Monitoring

We use fetal monitoring to check the health of your baby while still inside your uterus. This test measure’s your baby’s heart rate and contractions.

To test for your baby’s response to movement we put a small amount of jelly on your abdomen and place electrodes on top. The electrodes then measures your baby’s heart beat as it responds to your contractions. The results are printed out on a strip of paper for us to evaluate.

Fetal monitoring can be done at any stage of pregnancy, not just during labor. The test takes approximately 20 minutes.

Modern medicine has used ultrasounds for over 50 years as the widest use diagnostic tool. Obstetric ultrasounds can help us establish the gestational age of your baby, the location of your baby and the location of the baby. Ultrasounds also help us to assess your baby’s health and development.

We also use ultrasounds to check for the sex of the baby and to establish whether or not you are a carrier of multiple pregnancies.

Vaginal Birth and Cesarean Sections

When the time comes to deliver your baby you will most likely give birth at The Family Birth Center at Providence Centralia Hospital. We are completely equipped to handle both vaginal births and c-sections and our team of providers is always on call to support you in your final stages of pregnancy.
