CenteringPregnancy is an innovative, group-based prenatal care program that offers expectant moms assessment, support and education. It allows women to spend more time with their health care provider – a total of 20 hours of prenatal care – and an opportunity to learn from other pregnant women as they experience pregnancy together.
CenteringPregnancy groups are designed for eight to twelve women with similar gestational ages who meet together, along with Certified Nurse Midwives, to learn self-care skills, participate in facilitated discussions and develop a support network with other group members.
CenteringPregnancy Appointments Include:
- Initial private health screening.
- Prenatal check-ups.
- Weight and blood pressure monitoring.
- One-on-one time with the Certified Nurse Midwife.
- Important information and resources for you and your baby.
- Childbirth and breastfeeding education.
- Education about child development and family issues.
The Support of a Small Community
CenteringPregnancy is a place where women can share and learn from one another. Research shows that women who are part of CenteringPregnancy groups are happier with their care and have healthier babies. CenteringPregnancy provides a community for women to help one another during their pregnancy and as they raise their children.
