Pediatric Endocrinology & Diabetes

Hormones are chemicals our glands produce to help different body systems work together. They’re like messengers: they carry information from one set of cells to another. Hormones affect how we grow and develop, how our blood delivers food energy throughout our body and much more. Endocrinology is the study of these glands and the hormones they generate.

The Pediatric Endocrinology clinic offers consultative service for children and adolescents with hormone dysfunction, including problems of growth, puberty, thyroid, adrenal and calcium metabolism. Hormonal problems in children can be quite different than those affecting adults. Our pediatric providers have special training to treat these disorders in growing kids.

For children with diabetes, we offer education, disease management and intensive, ongoing insulin management. We can help you and your child learn safe and effective insulin pump operation and care, as well.
