Hospital Heart Services

Interventional Procedures

Sometimes, you need heart care in a hurry. At Providence St. Peter Hospital, we provide expert diagnostic catheterization, percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty, directional coronary atherectomy and intracoronary stenting, among other life-saving cardiovascular interventions. If you require invasive heart surgery at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital, we will coordinate your care with Providence Olympia Cardiac Surgery.

Peripheral Vascular Interventions

We routinely perform peripheral angioplasty and stenting to treat peripheral vascular disease (PVD).

Non-Invasive Procedures and Tests

We perform diagnostic tests in both our clinics and in hospitals, depending on the needs of the individual patient. These tests include brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) blood tests, EKGs, ejection fraction exams, lung x-rays, transthoracic and transeophogeal echocardiography, stress tests and nuclear cardiac studies, among others.

Cardiac electrophysiologists are subspecialized cardiologists who treat abnormal heart rhythms. Our electrophysiologists routinely perform studies and also provide interventions that treat potentially harmful arrhythmias. These include cardiac ablations and placing permanent pacemakers and AICD devices (automatic implantable cardiac defibrillator).
