Spokane Valley Pediatric Services
Valley Young People's Clinic is a full service pediatric office. Our Pediatricians care for the health needs of young people—from birth to 18 years of age. We take pride in establishing personal relationships with our patients and their families, and our peers in the medical community for the benefit of your children.
Our children's medical services include:
- Same day sick appointments
We offer triage services for our families for optimal appointment scheduling, answering questions for parents and giving advice about signs and symptoms of illness and helping with comfort measures for your child. Our triage staff is here to help answer questions and schedule appointments. We always strive to provide same day sick appointments for our patients
- Well-child care
We provide well and preventative care for children from birth to 18 years of age or graduating high school. This includes regular well check ups, sports physicals, immunizations in the office, lead screenings, lipid screenings and other health maintenance measures dictated by age and the patient. In-depth care for your teenager is important to us. If indicated, your teen would receive confidential care as dictated by state law with other services such as STD screening or contraceptive management.
- In-office Procedures
We perform many procedures in the office like simple splinting and casting for sprains and fractures, and cryotherapy for warts. We also perform in-office circumcisions for newborn boys.
- Sports physicals
Sports physicals are an important part of our practice. Many children actively participate in organized athletics. We provide comprehensive pre-participation physicals. This evaluation is comprehensive and really considers the whole child, including cardiovascular fitness, musculo-skeletal readiness and other areas of physical and mental health for the young athlete.
- Behavioral Evaluations
We perform comprehensive behavioral diagnosis and management for children including attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, anxiety-related disorders, depression, developmental delays, autism or other pervasive developmental delay concerns. We recognize the importance of parents and teachers participating in diagnosis and treatment. Additionally we stress the importance of thorough developmental and mental health screenings ensuring early diagnosis and appropriate intervention plans.
- Medically-complex children
Our physicians and nurse practitioners care for many very complex and medically-fragile children. Many children graduate from the NICU to care here at Valley Young People's Clinic. We care for children with many chronic diseases, including heart disease, asthma and neurological disorders. And we have a special focus on at-risk families with significant social needs; foster children and their foster families; and abused and neglected children.
If you are pregnant and have not established care with a pediatrician, we recommend a prenatal consultation with one of the physicians. This is a great way to start building a relationship, ask questions about our office, early newborn care, expectations after delivery or other things that might be on your mind. Please call to schedule a complimentary prenatal visit.
