Nearly four decades ago, Dorothy Wilhelm was a widow with six children and as far as she knew, no employable skills. She could not even drive her car on the freeway.
Today she still has six children, but everything else has changed. She is a columnist, humorist, speaker and broadcaster, she has spoken to audiences from Bangkok to Nashville. For ten years she hosted the award winning "My Home Town" on Comcast TV, for which she won a Beacon Award, and drew on her experiences with that show for her new book, True Tales of Puget Sound which is now a best seller for The History Press.
Now over 86, Dorothy does an internet radio broadcast on the SBO (Spunky Old Broads) Radio Network. She does Tai Chi three times a week, including Sword Form – and she drives anywhere she wants. She believes, and wants you to know, that the best is yet to come – starting now.
After the luncheon, there will be an opportunity to meet Dorothy and purchase her book, True Tales of the Puget Sound, at a book signing in the lobby.
